Stephany Uy-Tan became the first woman Mayor of Catbalogan in 2013. Since then, Mayor Uy-Tan represented ICLEI in various international events such as the Climate Summit of Local and Regional Leaders in Bonn in November 2017, among others. At the Cities and Region Pavilion during COP21, Mayor Uy-Tan presented Catbalogan's transformative Sky City project, in the framework of the Transformative Action Program. She also took part to UN Secretary General's High level meeting on climate in September 2017.
Solly Tshepiso Msimanga became the Executive Mayor of the City of Tshwane in 2016. Before joining and while in politics, he held the position of Executive Director for Ask Africa as well a number of Senior Management positions in the private sector. He also served as Assistant to the Chargé d’Affairs from the Liberian Embassy.
He holds a National Diploma in Marketing Management as well as a BCompt from the University of Pretoria.
Currently serving as the Mayor of Suwon City, Republic of Korea, Mayor Yeom’s involvement in sustainable development dates back to the 1990s when he founded the Suwon Center for Environment Movement.
With the slogan “Human City, Suwon”, he is committed to promoting civil participation in urban planning. He also founded the Local Sustainability Alliance of Korea and led the national movements on Governance and sustainability in Korea.
Dario Nardella was elected Mayor of Florence in May 2014. He started his political career in 2004, when he was elected Councilman for the City of Florence. He went on to serve as a legal advisor to the Minister of Institutional Reforms between 2006 and 2008, and was appointed Deputy Mayor in 2009. He was also a Member of Parliament between 2013 and 2014.

Alex Zhang is currently serving as the Executive Director of Eco Forum Global (EFG), ICLEI’s primary partner organization in China. As China’s principal international platform for sharing and exchanging best practices and experiences in sustainable development and eco-civilization construction, EFG enjoys a myriad of resources in line with ICLEI’s strategy in China such as promoting resilient and sustainable city concept and practices, and exploring ways of engaging Chinese cities.

Katrin Stjernfeldt Jammeh is, since 2013, the first female Mayor of Malmö. In this capacity, she has been on the board of SKL (Swedish Municipalities and Counties), which gave her an invaluable insight into the opportunities and challenges faced by cities around Sweden.

Currently the Mayor of Quelimane, Mozambique, Manuel de Araújo was first elected in 2011. He previously worked at Amnesty International. He was also a member, board member and Vice-President of several global organizations, such as Parliamentarians for Global Action and Parliamentarians for Small Arms.

Rt. Hon. Datuk Seri Utama Ir. Hj. Idris bin Hj. Haron was the Chief Minister of Melaka, Malaysia, from 2013 to 2018. He previously served as Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Higher Education among other offices. Under his leadership, the city of Melaka increased efforts in environmental protection and renewable energy, and hosted the 2016 RCAP. An Electrical Engineer by profession, he is committed to the acquisition, transfer, creation and application of knowledge to improve and enrich the livelihoods of all communities.
Mr. Mohamed Shafeeg Mahmood is a management professional who has worked at several top management positions over the past 30 years. He is a business consultant, writer on international affairs and a public speaker.
Mr. Shafeeg holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Charles Sturt University of Australia. Currently he is the CEO of the Local Government Authority of Maldives, an independent state institution overseeing, developing and regulating the work activities of Local Councils.
Hans Berty Margueritte has been involved in social work and local politics since 2000. As Mayor of Curepipe, he strives to build a culture of trust and proximity between the Council and the citizens.
He has spearheaded several initiatives to make Curepipe a cleaner and greener town and he champions projects regarding road drainage construction as a response to climate change hazards in line with climate change adaptation and resilience strategies.
Jerome Tinianow has been the Chief Sustainability Officer of Denver for over five years. He has 40 years of professional and volunteer experience in the field of sustainability.
Prior to his current position, he notably served as an officer of the National Audubon Society, and he directed the Center for Energy and Environment of the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission. He holds an undergraduate degree in International Affairs and a juris doctor degree from the George Washington University.
